I was not shocked to find out that my international contacts did not know much (If anything at all) about the issues related to excellence and equity in their country. My international contact from Italy (Serena) said she did some research since she wasn't really aware of this topic and she came up with this resource: www.ehinst.net <<That was all the help she could provide me with on this topic as she was not educated on this.
My international contact in Canada did not know anything about this topic and could not provide me with any resources. With that being said, I did my own research. I did find this informative article on excellence and equity in Canadian schools. A lot of it is difficult to understand but for the most part it's just a lot of reading and knowledge. You can read about it here:

This is a wonderful website I found on education, excellence, and equity. It helps you to better understand what is means to have equity in education. The website provides detailed video presentations for you to watch.

It is surprising to learn that many developed countires are so behind; in information/knowledge about important issues and trends that relates to the early childhood field.
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised at all that's why they are slow/no contacting us with feed back...I agree they are behind in information and knowledge.
ReplyDeleteWow- I am somewhat surprised that your are having challenges in getting information about these issues. I haven't received any information from my global contacts. It is rather frustrating, especially because I contacted global contacts listed on Unicef, and other organizations. One would think, that I would have at least heard from one of them. Maybe they couldn't help me, but it would have been nice to hear from someone. Thank you for sharing the information with us about your contacts.
ReplyDeleteIt's not surprising to me that they were not able to help you. From things I have read, some of these countries are behind on knowledge (as some of the others previously said). To be honest, this entire assignment on getting to know international contacts has frustrated me. I almost would prefer to just do research of my own on different countries than to rely on someone else to help me with it. I have not received an ounce of feedback...not even a response telling me they could not assist me with this project.
